Disaster Recovery

Platinum provide affordable disaster recovery services for both Unix and Windows environments to ensure that all your critical data is protected and can be restored with the minimum of downtime.
Unix – Mobile Restart Service
In the event of a major disaster we provide you with a replacement server, pre-loaded with your operating system and applications. You then provide us with your last good data backup to restore.
If your normal premises are out of action we can deliver the server to any location of your choice, within the UK mainland. Our engineer will configure the server to enable client machines to connect and use as normal.
You then keep the server for an agreed period of time until a permanent replacement is sourced and installed.
The service includes and agree amount of testing throughout the year so you can be confident that, in the event of a disaster, your system will up and running in as short a time as possible.
Windows - BackupPilot
Using our disk based network backup device, BackupPilot, critical Windows data from PC’s, laptops & servers is automatically backed up using agent free technology to the BackupPilot. The data is then compressed, encrypted, then copied to a secure off-site data centre for secondary storage.
In the event of data loss on a PC, laptop or server, the data is recovered quickly from the locally stored data on the BackupPilot.
However, in the event of a major disaster that disables all IT equipment, including the BackupPilot, the data at the off-site data centre will still be intact and can be restored once your relevant systems are available again.
